Overview:

CoStar Group is currently seeking a Telecommunications Manager. This position will lead a group to meet aggressive deployment and performance objectives for the enhancement and maintenance of a 2000 port international VOIP\TDM system, 30-host High definition videoconference system, and 600-node wireless telecom infrastructure. The environment is very entrepreneurial in nature with an emphasis on implementing highly technical solutions that offer a competitive edge for the business environment. Such technology would include VOIP, Softphone technology, multimode high definition video conferencing, CTI implementation, SIP trunking and advanced international call recording\reporting systems. This position requires a highly motivated individual who is comfortable with rapid changes in direction and environment, and who is passionate about delivery. The successful candidate will be customer-oriented, results-driven and passionate about building a cost-efficient and flexible telecommunications infrastructure.



Responsibilities:
  • (40%) Management of a group that assists in the design, installation and maintenance of voice and video networks.  Set priorities, manages projects and evaluates performance.
  • (30%)Lead the design, architecture and implementation efforts for internal voice and video conference networks that support critical back office functions such as Voice recording, ACD systems, VOIP call routing, fax services, video conferencing etc.
  • (20%) Manage and implement technology to ensure that corporate telecommunication infrastructure, network and phone systems meet acceptable uptime, performance and capacity requirements.
  • (10%)Ensure that the company is being cost-efficient. Manage vendors and contractors in order to obtain the best value while working within established budget parameters.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for influencing and supporting direction and function of telecommunications solutions in current and future locations.
  • Recommends, designs and implements telecommunications, voice network technologies, call center technologies, voice recording technologies and video conferencing technologies.
  • Develop request for proposals and manage telecommunications vendors such as cabling, long distance services, wireless services and evaluate bids.
  • Responsible for hands-on configuration and support of Avaya voice switches across the enterprise. Applicant must be able to program, manage and configure Avaya communication manager switches.
  • Responsible for configuration of least cost routing (ARS), trunk groups, dial plans, feature access codes, coverage paths, hunt groups, station features and other common phone system tasks.
  • Lead and manage groups within own department and work with other departments to complete communication projects on time and within budget.
  • Travel to regional offices to resolve technical telecommunication equipment problems.
  • Prepare and manage the department budget; operate areas of responsibility within budget to ensure that services are operating at the highest level of availability and the lowest cost. This will include the monthly audit of all telecommunication bills.
  • Oversee existing and new contractors for maintenance service related to the telecommunications services.
  • Ongoing development of corporate telecommunications Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity plans including risk assessment.
  • Responsible for critical response for all related areas. This position is stated to be formally on-call 24 x 7 responding to critical events and situations outside normal work hours.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science or technical discipline. 
  • Five years experience managing 5 or more employees.
  • Seven years of hands-on experience designing, configuring and supporting Avaya TDM and VOIP telephony, telephony voice recording, IVR, CTI, SIP, ACD, carrier signaling, call center operations and data communication technology, industry standards, vendors and trends.
  • 5 years experience designing, configuring and supporting TCP/IP with VoIP, including QoS protocols.
  • Certified in Avaya Communication Manager Software, S8XXX series servers and GXXX series gateways; equivalent experience acceptable.
  • Ability to travel and work weekends and/or off hours as necessary.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Several years experience supporting key phone switches.
  • Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
  • Exceptional customer service attitude and skills.
  • Ability to participate effectively in a team atmosphere.
